Cash Inn Ltd Gold by Post Terms and Conditions
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law and the terms governing your use of the Cash Inn Ltd Gold by Post service. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use the service.
1.Restrictions
1.1 The service is for your personal use only.
1.2. In order to make use of the service you must:
1.2.1 Be at least 18 years of age.
1.2.2 Provide a copy of an up-to-date valid photographic ID with the submission form.
1.2.3 Be the owner of the gold you are wishing to sell, acting on your own behalf and not, for example, as the representative or agent for someone else.
1.3 If you send us more than £1000 worth of gold, you agree that you may have to provide us with further proof of identification before we pay you (See paragraph 4 below for details) So that we can meet our legal obligations.
2. Posting and Insurance
2.1 When sending us your gold you must:
2.1.1 Place it in the protective bag provided in your ‘Gold by Post’ pack, and then place it in the Royal Mail Special Delivery Envelope.
2.1.2 Take the Royal Mail Special Delivery Envelope to your local Post Office where you will be issued a receipt
2.2 Any gold that is sent to us using the Royal Mail Special Delivery Envelope will be insured by the Royal Mail in case it gets lost or damaged in the post for up to £2500. This means that, if the Royal Mail Special Delivery Envelope gets lost or damaged before we receive it, you will not be able to claim more than the relevant insurance so, if you think the value of your gold is more than our valuation, contact us. Alternatively, you can choose to purchase additional insurance at your own cost (additional insurance is available from the Post Office)
2.3 If you want to make a claim under the insurance then you will need to contact the Royal Mail directly and you will need your receipt.
2.4 All Royal Mail Special Delivery bags received will be weighed prior to them being opened in front of two company employees. In the event of a dispute between the total weight received and the weight on your receipt from the Post Office, our weight will be considered final, but we will always act reasonably and fairly when taking this decision.
2.5 The level of insurance we provide will depend on our initial valuation of the items in your description from the website. You are therefore responsible for providing an accurate description of your items.
3. Valuations
3.1 When we receive your Royal Mail Special Delivery Envelope, one of our trained staff will value your gold, based on the carat of the gold and its weight (not based on its retail resale value). For questions regarding pricing please contact Cash Inn Ltd through our website (see paragraph 12).
3.2 You agree that we may test your gold as part of the valuation process. This process may result in a small mark being left on your gold and you agree to this and understand that it is possible that it may reduce the value of your gold should you decide not to sell it to us. If you do not want us to test your gold, then please do not send it to us.
3.3 If following testing we cannot verify your items are gold, paragraph 6 will apply.
3.4 On some occasions, but not all, if we consider that the retail resale value of the item you have sent is greater than the value based on the carat and weight of the gold (Which could happen if for example, the item contains a significant carat of Diamond) we may, at our discretion, offer you a price based on the retail resale value of the item. If this is the case, when we give you an offer for the item (see paragraph 4.1), we will let you know that it is based on the resale retail value of the item in one of our stores.
3.5 If applicable, we can make offers for other precious metals that are included in your items sent to us. This includes Silver, Platinum and Palladium. We will tell you when we do this, and these Terms and Conditions will apply.
3.6 We will use equipment to test your items that are in line with the trading standards
3.7 We will offer you a fair valuation on your items
4. Our Offer
4.1 Once we have valued your gold, we will let you know the price that we will pay you for the gold by phone and Email. If you send items that contain other precious stones or metals, the offer will be for the whole item received. We will not return such other materials or gemstones to you unless you reject the offer (in which case the whole item will be returned to you in accordance with paragraph 6). We will use reasonable endeavours to contact you within three working days of receiving your Royal Mail Special Delivery Envelope to let you know the offer.
4.2 The initial offer is valid for 48 hours, if you do not respond within this time frame, we will have to re-value the items in accordance with the metal prices at that specific time. If we do not receive any contact from you within 5 working days, we will retract any active offer and return your items.
4.3 You must respond to the offer with an Email confirming your acceptance or rejection.
4.4 If you accept the offer, terms in paragraph 5 will apply
4.5 if you reject the offer, terms in paragraph 6 will apply
5. Payment to you
5.1 If the offer is accepted, the payment will be sent to you via BACs within 3 working days from the day of the offer being accepted.
5.2 We ask that you kindly acknowledge that once we have sent the payment, ownership has been transferred to us.
6. Returning your items
6.1 If we are unable to verify some or all your items as gold or other precious metals, we will notify you of this and find out whether you would like us to send your item(s) back to you or to donate them to charity. If you decide to have them returned, we will post them back to you within five working days and via second class post.
6.2 Should you decide to reject the offer, your items will be posted back to you within five working days. This will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery at our expense and we will insure up to the relevant value of the items.
7. Responsibility for and the ownership of gold
7.1 We will be responsible for any loss or damage to your gold and other precious metals from the time the delivery of the Royal Mail is accepted by us. If we send your items back to you in accordance with paragraph 6 then we will be no longer responsible for any loss or damage from when it is delivered to the address you provided (specified on the ‘Gold by Post’ form).
7.2 You will own your gold and other precious metals until you notify us that you have accepted the offer made to you in accordance with paragraph 4.2, at which point the ownership will be passed on to us. If you have sent items that we could not verify and you have chosen to donate them to charity, again on notification in accordance with paragraph 4.2 ownership will be passed to us.
7.3 If we return your gold and other precious metals, to you in accordance with paragraph 6, you will always remain the owner of your gold and other precious metals. The Royal mail will be responsible for any damage or loss up to £500 after accepting delivery from us. If a claim is required, only on this occasion will we make this claim on your behalf.
7.4 If we return to you the items that we could not verify as gold or any other precious metal, then you always remain the owner of these items.
8. your personal data
8.1 We will use the information that we collect about you to provide the service to you and for our own internal marketing research.

10. Your responsibility to us
10.1 You are responsible for any losses that we suffer as a result of you being in breach of paragraph 1, i.e. you are not above the restricted age and/or you are not the owner of the items sent to us.
10.2 If we require further proof of identity then you must be willing to provide or else, we shall return the items or consider getting third party involved.
10.3 You are responsible for initially providing an accurate description of your items, so that we can base the level of cover from a valuation of this description.

11.2 If you breach these Terms & Conditions and we choose to ignore this, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies later or in any other situation where you breach these Terms & Conditions.
